I install firefox on pretty much every computer that doesn't have it that I spend more than 30 minutes working on, so yes.

The apple operating system does not open .exe files. However if the computers in thode run windows (I've never used them so i don't know), then yes it is possible to run a .exe file.

You can't open an .exe file on an Apple Mac at all.
Unless you do some technological trickery with software called Wine, but since you had to ask the question in the first place (no offence) it probably isn't really your thing.
Also there's always Parallels or something to run Windows on a Mac but you wouldn't be allowed to install that at the library.

not true, Crossover is able to open up .exe without any sort of modification.

That's true but I didn't mention it because it costs money and I doubt they'd be able to install it on the computer.
Though Parallels does cost money too I suppose.

free fully functional trial for a month for crossover, and I'm fairly sure their is no restriction on what you can install on os X at Mac. I remember seeing a SC2 logo the other day.

I am pretty sure the iMacs at thode have windows installed on them aswell.
So book the computer, the shut it down and when you start it up again hold the Alt(option) Key down and it will give you the option to boot into windows or OS x
Goodluck!
