I prefer Porsche for their practicality. However Ferrari comes close for their forgoing of creature comfort and bringing what are basically racecars to the street (not including the "watered down" mainstream models now, ie. 360, 430, 599).
In conclusion, harkening back to the rivalry of the day:
Favorite = Porsche 959 -->
2.8L twin turbo, about 450 hp and endless traction. Mashing the gas off the line would be like getting launched out of a cannon (0-60 in about 3.5sec in the 1980's was rediculous) And yet you can drive it in the winter AND it was originally designed as a rally car (not that anyone in their right mind would take a non Group B version off roading... on purpose). And it had a full interior and innovations like PDK (dual clutch) that we are only now getting as a standard feature for cars of this level. Plus it looks cool
Runner Up = Ferrari F40 or F50 -->
F50 is the better car, but F40 turbo lag is about as rediculous as the first gen 911 turbos, watching one spool up is kind of like watching the star trek enterprise cruising and then all of a suddent stretching out and blasting into warp speed, which is just cool. For looks though as far as I'm concerned the most badass looking Ferrari to date is the GTO Evoluzione.
And yes I have a thing for 80's cars as much as it pains me to admit...
For all out rediculousness, the trophy goes to one of either:
Callaway Corvette Sledgehammer <--- pulling 258 mph when the F40 was getting 201 mph, in a car FAR less capable of handling any issues at speed (deathtrap)
or
Lingenfelter Corvette TT <--- streetable 1000 hp! Are you kidding me?
