postage strike
I believe that first year-ers are supposed to receive information for course selection and just generally about their program in the mail; is this true? and what about the current postage strike? Thanks

The strike is going in rotations; they're not technically striking everyday. Mail still delivers Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Doesn't it depend on where you live?

Whether or not you get any mail at all depends on where you live (and it's only a few days at a time). I think they said on the news that in urban areas they were all going to 3 days a week delivery (Monday, Wednesday, Friday?) because of the reduced volume.

its rotational form site to site, so one day its in hamilton, and then in ... alberta lets say... and so on not every city is effected at the same time, nor does that strike occuring iin the city last more than a couple days or so.....

honestly i think its a dumb way to strike mostly cus the mail still gets delivered and no one is really all that much inconvenienced by having the mail skip a couple day ( its like on a holiday where if the holiday were on a friday they don't deliver till the next business day), and as such they are really failing at what a strike is supposed to be -_-

actually they have already lost 65 million dollar in revenue.. most of that from cancelled contracts, so while it may not affect you greatly, it does affect them
