you must be doing something wrong, really unlucky with the parts you get or just pushing the limits on ur computer. the parts shouldnt wear down that bad. it sounds like u were trying to play (example) starcraft 2 on ultra at 40 fps when ucan only handle medium. go check out mac lan club and give the president an email. hes willing to give pointers for pc and could help u rebeef up ur pc.

btw, pc>console anyday

Based on what sells on PC, by your logic "true gamers" really only seem to like WoW and The Sims...

How the hell does a graphics card just explode? And did you not contact the manufacturer? And look up reviews for the parts before you buy them...

You're right, that explains why PC games dominate some of the largest competitive gaming circuits and tournaments like MLG and Evo...

I tend to agree, as long as you buy quality parts, conduct proper maintenance, and don't do anything stupid like inexperienced overclocking, there's no reason parts should wear out that fast/often.

And I always like to show people this article.

5 years ago pc gaming dominated just about every genre of video games (thats why cod and cod2 were released on pc only biggest market)

In more recent years pc gaming is declining. But people in pc games don't just buy wow and the sims.

Most multi platform big name games are very popular for pc gamers.

And guess what? A pc gamer will kick your ass GUARANTEED in any fps because the mouse is superior to the those awful controllers)

Or you can get a GTX 460 from NCIX for $150 and not have to deal with shipping and customs.

I understand, I was really just pointing out that the most popular PC games are casual and MMO to counter the guy that said only "true gamers" played on PC

Actually, I played on one of the best console clans for Unreal Tournament 3 in the world for over a year (the game allows keyboard and mouse) and I've beaten users that play with a mouse consistently. Heck, I've played UT3 on PC with a PS3 controller and I still trump most players online and I can dominate (i.e. 10-0) one of my friends who is a pretty dedicated PC FPS player in a 1v1.
A mouse is better than a controller, but actual skill still trumps all.

Gotta agree with this. And while a mouse is better than a controller, the tablet trumps all. I had a cintiq back home I bought with my own money. I mean I just tap your head with my stylus and it's a head shot, SOOOooooo easy.

If you look at game sales it's pretty clear that it doesn't even make sense to make a PC version of a game anymore because the sales are so poor, this is due to many things, including piracy and a small target market for PC owners.

As for your assessment on "multi-platform games" i think you'll realize that most multi-platform games no longer even have PC versions, at best they have "ports". Some great examples of this are street fighter, GTA and Modern Warfare 2.
