Protips for Accessing SOLAR:
Year III Science gets on tonight aka at an awkward time tomorrow afternoon. Let’s collect some protips.
1. No, you won’t get on before 5 am.
2. Have 30, preferably 40 courses to fill 10 slots.
3. Hide and/or remove all instruments capable of causing bodily or computer harm from the designated laptop area. This includes, but is not limited to: pencils, pens, magnets (insert meme), large books, textbooks, dissecting kits...
4. Have a good three or four laptops firing on high performance, preferably with different web browsers.
5. Your brilliant “I’ll log on at 11:45” plan is known by EVERYONE.
6. Develop ubermicro, like ‘kay.
7. MUGSI takes about 400. SOLAR takes about 250. Srsly.
8. Console yourself with the first years, and how screwed they are.

Expand on 6?
I don't really get it.
Also if you are in Engineering or Comp. Sci you don't really have that much elective space to begin with so do you really need like 40 =/?

No. It means have 40 courses ranked in order, so when you can't get into the first 15, you have backups. :K |

You'd think they'd learn by now that no. of students allowed on MUGSI should be proportional to the no. of students SELECTING COURSES.

I'm gonna micro the **** out of solar, I'll have sick APM, just like this guy:

9: You can get on at almost any point of the day with this trick- Have your mouse cursor over the MUGSI link, and your other hand over Alt + F4. Click, if you see MUGSI is full, hit the keys. Rinse and repeat and rapid speed. Most I've ever had to wait doing this is like 5 minutes..
10: If your wanted electives are full, CHECK AGAIN LATER. Check like 10 times a day, every day. Odds are a spot will open up, and then you can snipe it! I've been able to get every class I've ever wanted so far here at Mac (scheduling conflicts aside).

Careful with this though. The process becomes so automatic, if you're not paying attention you may close the window when it is letting you in. It sucks, trust me.

I KNEW it would be Losira as soon as you said "sick APM".
But yeah, even if you don't get into everything right away it's not so bad, you only have to check SOLAR 10x a day for months until you get in ~_^ it's also plausible that you'll get in when school starts. |

9. Log the **** out of the system so people can get in. Otherwise, the system keeps you in for the alloted 45 minutes.
