psych 1a03 and 1aa3
well I took these two because I enjoyed learnign about them in grade 12 and I was wondering if its pretty much just a discussion based class that focuses on the different theories and their creators or if its pretty much a biology science course where you need to learn about the central nervous system etc.

I think 1A03 has a more biological feel to it as it discusses more about the functions and conditioning of the brain. In 1AA3, you take that knowledge and apply it in a more broad psychological sense as you study areas of development (language, intellect, etc).

1A03 is very biology-based. There is no discussion, you're just absorbing science, especially very detailed facts about the brain. It's the one that if you haven't taken biology you will struggle through. However, 1AA3 is very different and much more 'psychology based' as kenneth526 mentioned. You will use very little knowledge from 1A03, but it is a prerequisite. I enjoyed 1AA3 a lot more because it discussed things like cognition, social psychology, animal behaviour, mental disabilities, etc.
PS: The mid-terms and exams for both classes are quite challenging so you REALLY have to know your material. Dr. Dick Day is hardcore with multiple choice questions.

Vlad they actually changed the format of the class this year; it is now being taught by Dr. Kim and not Dr. Day. They also learn things in a slightly different order and cover some different material than they did in past years...

Question: Does anyone have any idea if psych 1AA3 is just a bunch of online lectures like psych 1AO3 is?

I like to engage with a real prof, so online lectures dont seem to do it for me.

Hey everyone. For those of you in psych 1a03, I wanted to know if anyone had typed up lecture notes that they wouldnt mind sending me on the Brain lecture. I had a bunch of family issues going on and somehow managed to miss the online lecture, and I cant seem to find anyone that will let me borrow their notes for it. I would GREATLY appreciate if anyone could send me their notes on the brain.
Thanks a bunch, Athena.
