Pyschology B.A and B.Sc.
Hi, I'm probably going to social science in the fall.
I was wondering if you are able to get into the B.Sc. of Pyschology if you take social science, or if you are forced to take the B.A.

http://registrar.mcmaster.ca /CALEN...nt/pg1631.html according to this for the BSc. you will need to take a lot of science courses. But there is nothing saying that you cant do the BSc if you arent coming from one of the science programs. But SocSci has a lot of elective space first year, also you can take one of the physcial science courses (chem or physics) in second year. So if you pick your electives carefully you should be good to do it... assuming you have the highschool pre-reqs and such.

You can get into BSc PNB from Social Science, there's really only one major difference in admission and that's that you have to take 1 Chem and 1 Physics for the BSc (Which isn't required for the BA).

Lots of people start out in SocSci and switch to Science-based programs, just make sure you have the pre-reqs, as have been outlined above!

I know some of the first year science courses (particularly bio 1a03) are only offered to first year science students, so you would have to get permission from the department to take it.

They generally don't give permission unless it's the summer, even to people who want to switch into a science program that requires it. It is open to upper year students from any faculty, though--it's just first years in other faculties that can't take it.
