Question
Hey
Is it possible to get your humanities degree in 3 years instead of 4, if so , how?
Thanks!

You can get a BA (no Honours) in three years.
If you want to get an Honours BA in three years it can be done; you'd have to take summer school and overload in some of your semesters to gain those extra 30 units. Not something I'd really recommend though...

Honours looks better over a BA candidate when it comes to jobs. The grade cut off is higher for one, and because you've studied for an extra year you've got more under your belt than the BA candidate. That being said, not everything depends on academics so having an Hons may not win you that position, on the other hand, it might help.

If you're looking at any sort of post-graduate program you need to have an honors degree (although there are some exceptions, [notably med school] but they are few and far between).

I don't see why not. I believe that Psych is still part of SocSci no? Even if it's not it should still be able to be arranged. This is something you would talk to an advisor about when it comes time to apply for majors, unless you plan to do one of them as a minor, which you don't declare until you're done your undergrad.

Mac is in the process of phasing out Soc Sci psych, but I think 2008 was the last year it was available as a program when applying.
If that is the case, a Soc Sci degree and a Humanities degree can be combined into a double major with no issues.
