i was just wondering if anyone has ever requested an article through here before, and whether they were actually able to get the article you wanted and how long it took? thanks!

I did. I got the article I wanted, but I don't remember how long it took (it was 4 years ago). I did get it in time to use for my project though, and I don't think we had more than a month for the project.
