Lol. Suffer.

Call me a party pooper, but the biggest suffering going on with a reading week in Southern Ontario is a program's integrity. You lose valuable education time (I don't care if you ARE reading, instead of wasting the week, as most people would do). Class time is class time... It's the reason the Engineering Accreditation Board specifies length of time in class as a requirement for program accreditation.

The reason that the concept of a Fall Reading Week exists is because when you live waaaay up north, where it's darker even more (even Thunder Bay and Sudbury) and there's a lot of wicked weather keeping you locked in, then people up there WERE killing themselves... It was an actual psychological problem... Not a demand of students to be allowed a week to relax because they are stressed out at school.

The reason our Reading Week is in February is because of the timing of short daylight hours, and inclement weather...

We don't need a second one...

I dont pay 10 grand a year to have a reading week. I can drop out and have a reading year... reading in unemployment line that is.

Liberal arts students can have 10 reading weeks, makes no difference for them.
