really need help
hellooooooooooooooooo ooo
oki i wanna transfer to business because of few personal reasons. I'm taking math 1k03 since i didnt take it in higschool and today was the 2nd day of the class n im really not getting wat my prof is saying. His name is Moore and he talks really slow and he is all over the place maybe that is just my opinion because im lost in that class n i think he is not teaching it well. My question is that are there any websites that could me learn the stuff or anything like that. I mean im not stupid in math as long as i have a good teacher, i will get it but like i just like the way Moore teaches because he'll be explaning one thing and out of nowhere he'll start saying something and like i said im so LOST i actually wanted to cry.

dont blame the teacher, open the book and start reading and practicing. all students understand through a different style of teaching and some students might even thinks he's teaching really great.
If you have problems understanding, raise your hand and ask the question, unless the teacher knows that he is not communicating well with the students, he'll think that his teaching style is compatible with all

I had him last year. He was hard to follow.
Google anything you don't understand. Trust me. It's got -all- the answers. It was my lifeline last year.

Hey Rahma,
I'm sorry to hear that but I'd like to reassure you.
While each member has their own opinions, it is the job of the Insider Agents and the Staff Members to make you feel comfortable.
We are a very welcoming community though at times people do disagree with each other since we all have different viewpoints.
Unless you're posting ads for Viagra, you won't be treated hostilely by any MacInsiders staff member, I assure you.
If you are, you may wish to contact Chad or Danielle (lorend) regarding the matter.
We are here to help and we do so because we like helping and the people we assist.
And you should never be afraid of asking a question, especially in Math courses. (I know that's not what you meant but I'm just relaying something a high school teacher taught me).
Chances are others have the same question and its better to learn one thing comphrehensively rather than many superficially.
Nonetheless, I apologise again if you feel unwelcome, and I promise you are, give us another shot and we may surpass your expectations.

i apologize if that was a bit rude but really the main point was that if you don't understand...you have to ask the teacher, you're paying for it and you shouldn't have to worry about obtaining the material
the student's job is to learn the material, not try to analyze and decipher what the teacher said
ask the teacher, go during office hours and really get into his brain...who knows, maybe he's more knowledgeable but he can't deliver it...in the end, only you will benefit

Teachers are not infallible. Quite the opposite. I've had profs who require a textbook regurgitation, profs who are thoroughly incomprehensible when they speak etc. Some profs are excellent but Mac tends to save those profs for upper years.
Afzal: wait more than a week and you'll understand what I'm saying. I've been here for 4 years and I've had more than my fair share of bad profs who make courses impossible to get by with great marks without dumb luck.
Rahma: TAs. Use them wisely. Irritate the hell out of them if need be. They are students who understand the need for comprehension and the worst case is that they will tell you to chill out.

Why is that so shocking? Most of the profs are there to do research and are REQUIRED to do lectures. It's not even like they have to do it well.
If anything, it's the genius teachers that are probably the worst types of teachers... They just throw out all these concepts and what not and they can't explain it well to students. They figure that since it makes sense to them, it must make sense to other people.
