Reinstatement, some final questions, :)
Hi guys, I posted here early May about reinstatement in Science, and just had a few more Questions.
http://www.macinsiders.com/showthrea...ead-60223.html
If you guys remember my circumstance was depression/post trauma due to my cancer diagnosis the summer before first year started. Now ill be picking up the biopsy results and the entire medical "story" from the emergency room to the actually diagnosis (because they never knew it was cancer at the ER when I had abdominal pain) next week. Is there a limit to the amount of paperwork they take??, like is this over board?

Now I want to take the next step and actually PROOVE that I suffer from depression/post trauma. So I called up a psycologist, since psychiatrists take MONTHS to book an apointement. He will meet me for 3 sessions and conduct tests, and I will get an official report. (Btw this cost SOOO much money I hate myself for messing up). Now I read that earlier you apply the better your chances?? would say June 20th be late?? The deadline is the 30th. I say this because the psychologist will take until the 15th or so to finish the report papers.

Also everyone I ask tells me that I dont per say NEED to take a year of, why does the site say its a requirement? is it just loosely enforced?

Thank you so much guys

I think it's also important to prove that you can deal with your depression/post trauma effectively in order to succeed in University. If you are still in depression and if you still have post-traumatic problems, then the university may find it more difficult to reinstate you. But if you can prove that you no longer suffer from these conditions then you are showing the University that you can concentrate more on your academic endeavours.

This post didnt include the full story. I am also getting regular counselling for this, and Im hoping/assuming that the report will include a treatment plan. Any idea if applying earlier helps :/?

That's good to include. No idea about the application process as I've never been in this position or talked personally to someone in this position.

It doesn't matter if you apply earlier or later. They review all applicants after the June 30th deadline. They don't favor earlier applicants. I've asked this question before to an adviser.

What website says you need to take a year off? I'm pretty sure that's not a requirement for reinstatement.

my mistake, it said if the CA is below 3.5 after reinstatement, u gotta wait a year before reinstating again.

it says atleast 12 months. But people are telling me otherwise.
I assume you mean this part:
Note: If at a review after reinstatement the Cumulative Average falls below 3.5, the student will be required to withdraw from the University for a period of at least 12 months.

If you read it carefully, it says AFTER REINSTATEMENT. So if you get reinstated, and then your average goes below a 3.5 (which would normally put you on probation), you have to take 12 months off. Nowhere does it say that you must take 12 months off when you're first kicked out.
