Reporting a professor
Hello

A few students, along with myself, wish to report a professor in the Sociology Department. Does anyone know if there is a formal method of doing this? Please suggest...thanks!

Sort of depends on the nature of your complaint. There's the Human Rights and Equity Office, the Ombuds office, the department head or the associate dean of social sciences.

If you're not sure which, try the Ombuds office first and they can point you in the right direction.

(Apologies if you feel this is offensive to your plight...)

I hope this isn't yet another case of reporting him/her for failing students who feel entitled to a passing mark...

I'm pretty sure every sociology student has an idea of who you would like to file this complaint against without even a mention of what for. You can probably find some info here too depending on the type of complaint.

I would discuss your issue with the ombuds on the second floor of the student centre. They accept drop ins and are very objective and nice. Its their job to know policy so they can tell you the effective way to act, if need be.

Why don't you tarnish his reputation by telling us exactly what he or she did?
