Because if each sister has 1 brother, there should only be 1 brother. If there were 4 brothers, each sister would have 4 brothers.

Because they are sisters and each have 1 brother, but by saying 10, you're really saying they have 4 brothers.
The one brother is SHARED by all 4 of the sisters.
