Don't worry, they are just riddles. Nice to solve but completely (or nearly completely) useless. I guessed wrong the first time because I took into account 1 day is day+night. So I kept on including the night >.<

The first part can be assumed to be packaging, but I cant seem to think of a food that you cook but dont eat the inside.....hmmmm.
Or I could totally be on the wrong track.

Well, it could be anything with some inedible on the inside, such as seeds, bones, etc...
