Room mate problems
Hey,
does anyone whose ever had a problem with their room mate have any advice?
How do I deal with a roommate who keeps me awake until the early hours of the morning and just won't compromise on anything?

would love to hear any ideas on how to improve the situation!
thanks!

Talk to your CA! It's their job to help out in situations like these.

Weird, we had to sign a contract when I was in first year.
Yes talk to your CA...my CA oversaw our contract.

I had the same issue just last year. Contract didnt help, so I talked to my CA. He had us sit down with him as a mediator and talk about our problems and what we expected out of each other. We were able to compromise on things. After that, the situation got better. It still wasnt perfect but it was tolerable.

yea im pretty sure you HAVE to sign a contract. the CA's in our building went from room to room and sat down with everyone to make sure they all agreed on the conditions and signed it in front of them or acknowledged that they had signed it to them. and we also had to give them a copy of the contract.

but yea go talk to your CA if you haven't already. your CA can technically give out a minor i believe to your roomy if she doesnt co-operate / is intruding on someone else or something along the lines of that.

As many people have already mentioned the roommate contract is a mandatory device that is used to exactly the kind of situation that you're mentioning.

My advice irregardless to that though, is that you have to communicate with your roommate, there are so many times when I've heard complaints about a person, and when they simply spoke about it to them, the issue resolved itself. Humans aren't mind readers, voice your concerns and if she doesn't respect them seek help from a CA.
