Hey!
I took this course last year, and I think overall I'm pretty happy that I did. The prof is great (Chris Austin)...he's really understanding and fair, and the mark breakdown is pretty great (no final exams
). The class has only about 20-25 students, so it's a small class which has its perks. But only take this course if you're a class go-er, b/c attendance counts for some of your mark (class was at 9:30 and I used to struggle to make it lol).
In terms of content, I found the first semester pretty easy. The second semester was a lot harder and took a a lot more effort, but it definitely was not impossible. But keep in mind that I did already know the Devanagri script, which is what Sanskrit is written in...it might be harder for someone who has never seen the alphabet before (if you know how to write Hindi for example, you know the script....but otherwise knowing Hindi isnt much of help). But there were people in the class who learnt the script from scratch and I think they did fine too.
So basically, I enjoyed this class...and most of the class ended up with a good mark (but we all did our work haha). Let me know if there are any more questions!
