Tickets are NOW available for ShAIDS of Grey!
And what is that you ask? ShAIDS of Grey seeks to use the theatre space as a means to develop a paradigm shift in the way we think about, react to, and the contributions we make to those affected by HIV/AIDS. We have chosen to provide the proceeds of this show to orphans affected by AIDS in Africa. <o></o>
<o></o><o></o>
Africa is the continent hardest hit by AIDS, and the prevalence rate is unmatched anywhere in the world. Not surprisingly, those victimized most by the pandemic are children whose families have been hit by the disease. They are left without support systems, without an income, without a chance to go to school, and without much hope for the future. Most of all, they are left without a voice – we hope this production will bring to life their unspoken realities and convey the true dynamics of living in a place where HIV prevalence rates can be as high as 40%.

Through many aspects of traditional African dance and music, as well as contemporary theatrical practices, the production will bring life to the above issues in a way that is accessible to the audience. Our goal is to combat apathy and to show people how much the little things they do add up. <o></o>

ShAIDS goes on stage on March 14th at the Theatre Aquarius. The silent auction begins at 7PM, and the production starts at 8pm.
Tickets are available at the Compass Information Desk in the Student's Centre as well as from Production Team members at McMaster and from around Hamilton. Please email [email protected] if you have special requests and we will try to accommodate you. <o>

Tickets are $28 for adults and $23 for students with a valid student card (Please note: If you purchase a student ticket, you must bring your student card with you to the show). Online tickets will be available (and some at a larger discount) online in the next few days. More details are coming shortly.<o></o><o></o>

In addition to the ticket sales, we are gratefully accepting donations in order to cover the hefty production costs of the show. We are also accepting donations of art pieces to put in our silent auction. Students may also get involved by helping out with the production aspects of the show. If you want to help out, send us an email:

The production is being put on by CURE Canada (Care for Underprivileged and Refugee Empowerment). CURE's work primarily focuses on immigrant and refugee youth in Canada and related issues abroad. <o>

CURE Canada is a grassroots non-profit organization that is committed to ensuring that all individuals have access to the basic necessities required to guarantee equal opportunity at all levels of society worldwide. By identifying and examining underprivileged persons, refugees, and their respective situations, both within Canada and abroad, CURE Canada will attempt to restore hope by alleviating the burdens restricting them from developing their potential and living a prosperous, healthy life. Through the provision of aid and the employment of advocacy and outreach, CURE Canada will not only strive to remove barriers and ensure human rights, but also encourage the development of stable environments rooted in peace, independence, and self-sufficiency.<o></o>
