During this stressful time, people often neglect the necessary steps to care for both body and mind. The Student Health Education Centre (SHEC) is an MSU service which promotes a healthy lifestyle for the undergraduates of McMaster University students. SHEC volunteers engage their peers in health-related issues through performances, peer support, fundraisers and events. This year, SHEC will hold the first ever SHEC Week. Running from February 10th to the 14th, SHEC Week will feature a host of daily events aimed at raising awareness and fostering discussion about student health.
Seeking some peace of mind? Attend one of SHEC's
Mindfulness Meditation Sessions.
Feeling stressed and need some organizational tips? '
The Cult of Busy' event is for you!
Want to learn more about eating disorders and body image? '
Love your Body' is an interactive workshop designed to make you aware of your unique beauty and help you feel good about the skin you’re in.
Struggling with a difficult relationship? At '
We Need to Talk', a professional relationship counsellor will be discussing the signs of unhealthy and addictive relationships.
These are just a few of the many events that will be featured during SHEC Week. Also, attendance at any SHEC Week event will earn a raffle spot to win one of many fantastic prizes up for grabs! For a complete list of events being held during SHEC Week please visit:
