Also, I just read Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol (a really good read), and was wondering if anyone else noticed some ideas being borrowed. The whole thing with mysticism being used for good and evil, and especially the idea of a blurred line between scientific and technological creations with mystic rituals. Even the similarily logical minds of Sherlock Holmes and Robert Langdon revealing, in a world of religious paranoia, that there exists really no difference between what some percieve as miracles and what some percieve as science.

Maybe I'm grasping, but this is what I was thinking about throughout most of the movie, and to me a lot of it seemed eerily similar.
I haven't read The Lost Symbol yet, but it sounds like the last two Robert Langdon adventures from your description. I don't know if I would have drawn the parallel though, since it wasn't really religion portrayed in SH as much as it was black magic/witchcraft.

Not only will there be a sequel, but they're looking to Brad Pitt to play a certain character.

I enjoyed it for the most part, but between the mumbling and the accents, there were some lines I missed. Will watch it again upon its home video release, with subs.

If you've ever watched Action Man, Holmes' thinking process is oddly similar. I know it wouldn't happen, but an "Amp it up!" would have been great. Also, a "No shit, Sherlock."

Yeah, I know! STC was so packed, especially on the Tuesday following the release of the movie when tickets were half price. All showtimes were sold out on that day. I went there like two times before that too and it was all sold out.

Haha yea, In my 17 years of living in Bowmanville I have never once seen a movie sold out. Although yesterday with Sherlock Holmes it was pretty close...had to sit in the very front row to get a spot.

By certain character, do you mean the person that Adler was working with?

Indeed. I wasn't sure how much to reveal before getting spoilerish but I think I left it vague enough.

Spoilers in this link, I guess.

http://www.popeater.com/2009/12/29/b...lock-holmes-2/

So it's not really "confirmed" but it's looking pretty likely.

He doesn't strike me as a good fit to be honest, but we'll have to see.

just saw it with reeves earlier today... I didn't find the plot confusing at all.

But I enjoyed it. It wasn't amazing by any means, but it's definitely a good, enjoyable movie.

And honestly, when did robert downy get so hot?
