I think it has guidelines and stuff about writing formal labs etc, but I managed to get through 2 years without ever seeing it.

there is a formal lab in bio 1a03 in which u r required to use the book
u dont need it for bio 1m03

if u buy the textbook new, this book comes with it
if u buy the textbook old, and the seller isnt selling this book; borrow the book from a friend (u will only need it for 1 day max!)

Not useful for first year at all. They don't mark the labs with that expectation. In second year, it's only useful for Bio 2A03. They mark the labs a lot more strictly. Other second year courses don't mark the labs with that same expectation (I didn't take Bio 2L03 though). If you are in a program which requires a lab course to be completed, it's useful for that as well.

Is it useful for first year bio? Nah. Is it useful if you're science student? Yes.

It's a good resource overall, but I never opened it in first year to be honest!

I think we used it once in Bio 1A03... there was a formal lab report and it asked us to refer to the guide.

i found it to be a really great resource, and even though you dont use it all that much in first years i have a feeling it will come in handy in the future. its also like one of those things you want to have around just incase you find your self in a situation that youll need it
