You guys have Nejat or Okon?
I don't remember Okon saying you didn't need the textbook but then again, I'm half asleep for most of the lecture.
Anyway, I'm debating about purchasing the text as well and I haven't found a ebook/torrent link either.

Always get at least some version of the text book.

NO, save yourself the money! It is an absolutely horrible textbook, one of the worst I've ever had. I bought it, looked at it once and never touched it again. If your prof has good lecture slides those should be sufficient.

The tutorial problem set 1 has about 7 'assigned problems from book' on page two, so we (I have Nejat) are being assigned some work from the textbook.

I had Nejat and used it sometimes when I didn't understand him. If you're gonna get the textbook, just buy it used (or online).

I noticed that! I dont think we are getting marked for those problems set questions however, correct me if im wrong, so maybe we can get by without the textbook?! Im trying to get by on the odler edition, DO NOT want to fork out the cash for the newest editions!

I don't think we are either, we'll just take them up in tutorial and get marked for 'participation'.
