There are only 2 I know of. The basic one is just the pressing the buttons w/ letters on them, and the other actually has a screen when you input the command. I think it's safe to buy a used one, but the one I found in the store is the first model.

I think a used one would be fine. They're only $10 cheaper than the new ones though and you can use it all the way through uni/for multiple classes.

Do we need to register the iclicker online, or can we just use it in class without that

If the iClicker ID is rubbed off, ask the seller to obtain them using this website :
http://minisite.iclicker.com /Lookup.aspx
Then get the remote ID to register it as yours.

I bought a used one. It died midway through the second term and I had to buy a new one anyway.

New.. batteries? Did you know that you can replace the batteries in the iClicker and not the entire thing?

Even if the remote ID is rubbed off the back, the number is also inside the unit where you put the batteries!!

A used one is definitely fine. It's cheaper and works exactly the same as a new one. Just keep in mind that some don't have a code at the back of the iClicker (might have rubbed off), so when purchasing one, get one with a code at the back.
