Should Gore Park Go Car-free?

"Hamilton is looking at making Gore Park a 'car-free' zone for a couple of months in a pilot project.

It's a test of the pedestrian friendly plan that will see the south leg of King Street East between
James and Hughson closed to traffic through the summer months."

Discussion: Do you think it's a good idea to close traffic off in Gore Park?

Terrible idea. It's already painful driving downtown in rush hour. No traffic past gore park would make it a nightmare.

Actually the South leg is just parking. The traffic going through is on the North leg.

Really bad idea. It won't get people to go downtown (even more so if this happens)

Effect on traffic: Minimal (don't see many cars driving on that stretch of road); I frequently j-walk across that street..

Effect on parking: loss of about 20 spaces?

I don't really care to be honest, theres a few banks, random office buildings, and a few other businesses I don't care for over there... why not..
