Should I take Physics 1L03?

I'm unsure whether or not I should take Physics 1L03. I did take Gr12 physics, BUT my teacher was so slow that we didn't even cover half the topics! So stuff like magnetic fields, light, torque and all that are untravelled terrain right now.
I'm also taking Physics 1B03 and 1BA3. Which means Physics 1L03 and 1B03 will have be taken together. Would it make sense to do that?

1) There have been numerous threads about this same topic. I would try searching because you'll get a lot more opinions that way.

2) In my opinion, you shouldn't need 1L03 if you took Grade 12 physics, even if your teacher sucked. The profs in 1B03 will teach you everything you need to know and if you are taking 1B03 and 1BA3, then you will find the level of difficulty in 1L03 completely useless.

I took Grade 12 physics the summer after grade 12 just so I could avoid 1L03 and believe me, there is no way you had a teacher sh*ttier than mine. That being said, I did not have trouble in 1B03 in terms of material, it's really mostly a repeat of grade 12. The hardest part of 1B03 are the tests, which 1L03 cannot prepare you for.

tl;dr: Don't take 1L03. It's a waste of money, time, and valuable course space.

Thanks so much! That really convinced me...
I searched up posts (for like 2 days!) I just didnt know whether 1L03 would teach me the stuff I didn't learn in grade 12 or just waste my time. I'm thinking it's the latter.
Now I gotta change my schedule up. Thanks again!

in my experience, myself and all the people who came from my high school, got screwed over for B03 physics because our teacher focused too much on certain units (and avoided others)

I don't think it is wise to take B03 if you aren't ready, because it is not that easy of a course (apparently they made it harder this last year because peoples marks were too high? idk rumor-mill)

if you would have done well in B03 then you will most likely do well in L03 as well, so it wont really damage your mark (hopefully) and you can always take B03 in summer school to avoid the mark being seen if you apply to a lot of other schools for grad programs (if you dont think you will do well)

Just my opinion- or rather what i wish i had done lolll

If I have never taken physics in High School, should I go with 1L03?

If you don't have Grade 12 Physics U, you can't do Physics 1B03 - you can only do Physics 1L03. However, if you do 1L03, you can take 1B03 after if you want.

i agree with what was just said +
just make sure you check what program you want to go into second year and see if you need B03 as a course requirement
(so then you should take L03 first term and B03 second term )
