Small Earthquake Felt in Hamilton
Buildings rumbled for a brief period today as a small earthquake could be felt in Hamilton and neighbouring cities.
The tweets are coming in:

Apparently it was a 5.8 earthquake in Virginia that could be felt here.

I'm in Brampton, and I didn't feel anything because I was in the basement. My grandma upstairs felt the ground underneath her feet shake though.

Exactly. I'm reading some online newspaper articles from TO and Hamilton and people saying "My house was shaking for 3 minutes!"

It was actually felt all the way up North. I work in an office district in downtown Sudbury (6th floor) and all of the buildings including the police station and holding cells were evacuated because the shakes were felt so strongly up here. There were also police and fire persons blocking off the majority the downtown core as a preventative measure with all the tall buildings and whatnot. It was actually pretty scary... Water was spilling out of my glass and the doors were swinging... Weeeeeeird
