If it's Commerce 1E03, the same one I have, I'm convinced Cossa would still run the midterm.

Interesting tidbit regarding McMaster's Storm Emergency Policy: the Provost makes the decision at ~5am to close the school during normal business hours (i.e. 8am-5pm). However, if during the day, the danger that severe weather posed to students, staff and faculty is reduced, the Provost can decide to not cancel evening classes, meetings and exams. Basically, the school can close during the day but you might still have your midterm at 6pm.

As always, check Daily News and don't assume your night classes and midterms are cancelled because the school was closed during the day.

Does anyone know about whether it will be cancelled tonight? I have a sociology 1A06 quiz at 7pm and the storm is supposed to hit Hamilton and Mississauga hardest (both my destinations)...

Well of course I'm not going to slack off on the midterm :/ but I want to study for Econ instead of Commerce (since econ is on saturday)! I also would rather play in the snow then write a midterm

And really ? How can they do that!

If it does get bad, how do we find out if McMaster is closed.

It will be posted on McMaster's website, as well as www.thespec.ca and announced on all the local radio/TV stations.

It's unlikely the school will be closed for the quiz this evening as the storm won't get really bad until much later tonight/early tomorrow, it is supposed to be worst during the morning rush hour. On the bright side, the quiz is only worth about 3% of your final grade.

If anything happens, the prof will let you know if the test is rescheduled.

McMaster never closes.
Even a bomb threat means they evacuate one building.
I mean, really? A bomb could take out half of Hamilton.

F****** Hurricane Sandy was coming for us in its path and they didn't cancel school, I don't know what can.

Why are you crushing my hopes and dreams

I just received an email:

"As you may be aware, we are expecting some potentially bad weather over the next 24-48 hours. It is McMaster University’s policy that if the University is closed, that all events be rescheduled.

Information about school closures can be found on the McMaster website – www.mcmaster.ca or by tuning into the local news channels (CHCH, CityTV).

McMaster was cancelled due to a snowstorm in my first year (which was 2 and a half years ago) so there is hope!
