Ssh?
Someone mentioned on one of the threads here that it's possible to use SSH to connect to a computer at home and transfer files. I'm just wondering how this could be done? I've googled SSH and don't seem to be able to find anything to help me out. If anyone knows of any site or thread that explains how this is done, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Hey,

Spoke with a friend who uses SSH, and he told me a few tips:

1) SSH is a linux thing, so if you're running Windows it won't work
2) If you are running Windows (which I'm assuming you are), then he suggested to use a site called "Log Me In". How it works is, you go to logmein.com, signup, and then from your computer at home you go to the website and 'add' that computer. Then, when you're at Mac, you simply go to the LogMeIn website, type in your account password, and without downloading anything, you are able to see your computer screen and control the mouse. It's really neat! and FREE!

ssh will work fine in windows; you just require a client; putty works well for cli access and filezilla is quite competent for sftp (ssh file transfer protocol, which is what you were after), each of these requires a server running on your home computer however, of which filezilla also has one available, being open source makes it free and not feature limited
