Hi everyone!
I've always been fascinated by the impacts that current drug laws has had on society, and by extension, what the war on drugs has done to society and drug policy in general. I've always been an advocate of harm reduction and the decriminalization of marijuana. As such, I believe that more participation, especially by youth, needs to be done in order to emphasize the need to reform current drug policy.
An idea I've had is to establish a chapter of Canadian Students for Sensible Drug Policy at McMaster.
The aim of the organization is exactly what I wish to work toward, not just as a student in a club, but as an active citizen of Canada.
CSSDP believes that drug use is not a criminal offence, but rather a public health concern; something I've truly believed and think that society needs to adopt this idea.
If anyone else has thoughts on this organization, I'd love to hear them!
I want to start a chapter but also want to get a good idea of student reception.
Thanks guys
