Summa Cum Laude
Anyone know what you need to graduate: summa cum laude; latin honours. I have seen some people assert this honour on linkedin.

Is it only an 11?

9.5+ gets you summa cum laude, mac doesn't distinguish between the honorary terms.

I thought summa cum laude was only given out once per graduating year per program - as in the person with the 'highest honours'.

Must be an American thing?

Can I ask what "summa cum laude" is? Because I can't hold my immaturity for much longer before I start leaving funny comments.

That's the Governor General Award in Canada
No idea if that's what summa cum laude is in the States, though.

How come some people say their degree is conferred with "Distinction" while others say their degree is conferred with "summa cum laude honurs." There must be a distinction between the two. Is it the difference between a 10 and an 11?
