Televisions in res
I'm in a bunk and loft room, should I bother bringing a TV?
I always planned on bringing one, but I've heard a lot of people saying that no one really does.
Opinions? (:

it's not really necessary. i usually watched things online (most shows are posted on the company website 24 hours later).

also, there are televisions in the common rooms, so usually you can find a free one.

Opinion: A TV will HINDER you from watching TV. Actually. No Joke.

Look at it this way: A TV is great for watching the channels you subscribe to... But what about those you don't want to pay for? There's stuff on them too, and some of it that you would enjoy!

So get a monitor and hook up your laptop or desktop for a better viewing experience, then watch as DC++ fills with every single TV show you could want... And if it doesn't have one you want (ya, I know, contradiction) then use Google and type something like 'watch {insert show name here} online free'. You'll learn to figure out really quickly whether it's a legit site for watching the video or not, and you'll be watching anything and everything in the world!

As for gaming and TV: Use the common room TV. It's far cheaper.

Enjoy!
