Textbook Authors
When using the textbook listings website by the campus store, is there a way to find out the author of the textbooks ?

When you search the books for your course, the popup window should state Name Edition Author ISBN

(You might have to click 'Notify Me' to get the pop up window).

Here's the problem, though: the notify me button doesn't appear for all books. When questioned about the ISBN/author info on facebook, titles said that they can't do anything about providing the info: you'll just have to wait for the syllabus from the professors.

this sounds enormously fishy to me. the professors provided this info to you for the booklist! in the past, you've provided this info to us via a direct link when you click on the textbook title. why are you making this information so hard to find now?

is it because you want to force people to wait until it's too late to buy the textbooks via other avenues? (aka, online?)

Click on "Textbook Rental" under the "Search Other Options" column. This will redirect to a textbook rental website, which will provide the book name, author, and ISBN on the top left.

That doesn't work for all books.

The author and editions are back on line - the extra calls to the server were slowing the site down so they temporarily had to be removed. The professors will always list full information in your course syllabus so that is generally the best place to check for info. It is always best to wait until you have gone to the first class anyway to a.) make sure you want to take the class b.) there can sometimes be last minute changes to books so you want confirm before you buy c.) talk to the prof about how they will use the textbook... some supplemental books aren't heavily used so you may choose to share or use the library
