Umm...one is in elec eng I think, but we haven't seen each other in a while. One is in chem eng & management, a couple are in mech eng. But I'm sure there are tons of people who get those kinds of grades in all disciplines, I mean engineering has a lot of students don't they? And even outside of eng, there are a lot of successful students in chem bio, biochem, life sci, and pretty much everywhere.

Man, so many memories with 2Z03 and 2ZZ3 (not great ones). From the original poster's description of the course, they've decided to make a few changes compared to when I took 2Z03 last year.
I remember stressing out over the 2Z03 exam, especially since I wasn't doing too well in the course. But I did my best and it paid off when I saw a 3 on my grade report.
As for mark adjusting, I'm sure that the profs must have boosted our a marks by some amount, but don't dwell on it too much. Instead, just wait for your mark to come out. If you passed, then good job. If not, there's still summer school.

Right now I'm taking MATH 3I03 (Mech and Matls Engineers take it) and it's making me miss my 2Z03 days...oh god, I can't believe I just said that.

Thank you for the replies, guys!
i was so worried when i finished the exam, but now when i think back, it seems i didn't do that bad.
most likely i will pass it without bell curve.
the thing is, 2z03 is not easy, there are some people who are having good grade, but also more ppl suffered in it, that's why the avg for both midterm are around 50%

The 3I03 exam is today, so I'll let you know how that goes.
By the way, the "I" in 3I03 stands for "Impossible". lol

both test class averages were 50. So I am guessing final would be around the same.

And I hope he pulls everyone 10 percent up

They've Math 2Z03 harder this year. A friend of mine who took the course this year said that they did not allow students to bring calculators for the exam. WTF? I did most of my matrices problems on the calculator. Also they've added a written portion on the exam and the midterm.

Some engineering student must have really pissed off Gabardo. He is becoming more and more like Bartosz Protas. INSANE. I feel sorry for you guys.

Calculators?! We had to do eigenvalue matrices by hand. Yay for incredibly lame profs!

Anyone have 2zz3 notes. Garbado's ? I can see the website from 2011
this one in particular, lists all the notes he use to have. http://www.math.mcmaster.ca/gabardo/...-lectures.html

that one thing i hate about the math department. they keep up the website, take down the files for multiple courses.

Marks are up in degree audit. Based on my mark(b-) I am assuming there was ~5% bump in marks(just guessing based on how well I thought I did on exam)

Just to echo the request from MacPack... After hearing all the horror stories about 2Z03 and 2ZZ3, I'm definitely going to take them at summer school. I would love the notes so I can get started ahead of time and work ahead.

Can anyone please email me the Gabardo lectures? My address is johnss8_AT_mcmaster_D OT_ca.

Cheers.

http://www.math.mcmaster.ca/gabardo/M2Z03.html for 2z03 and

http://www.math.mcmaster.ca/gabardo/M2ZZ3.html for 2zz3

2011/2012 respectively.

I'm aware of the sites and have downloaded all the previous tests, etc. The notes however, are password protected. Clicking the link brings up a username/password prompt.

Looks like that works only for 2ZZ3, so if anyone has the password for 2Z03, it would be appreciated!
