For those that took heath sci 3I03
Is it useful to go through the book to study for the test, or should I focus on the lecture notes. The readings are extremely huge.

Let me know. thanks in advance

I'm surprised your prof didn't tell you to specifically read pages 2-5 and which paragraphs to focus on.

If only you could be more baby fed :(

i found the textbook to be a great resource (i'm in a doctor of veterinary medicine program now so i have sold most of my undergrad textbooks EXCEPT immuno and a few others .. it's a fantastic textbook in my opinion .. i can't bear to part with it! i still refer back to it now!). but for the tests, i focused on the lecture notes, and on the lecture recordings. i really only used the textbook for the assignments, projects, and exam. for the tests, the lecture notes defintiely will suffice, as long as you have a really solid understanding of it. maybe just read through the relevant chapters once to help with your understanding, but don't spend your time trying to memorize the stuff in there.

this was probably one of my favourite courses of undergrad, so i hope you like it too! it's soo interesting and they really do everything in their power to make sure you do incredibly well in the course, so there's no reason to do badly unless you majorly slack off. if only there were more courses like this for bio students.

ladyh, thank you for posting some thing constructive and useful so that not only me but many others who are wondering the same thing can benefit. Unlike you, there are some people on this forum who have nothing better to do but spread their negativity.

I agree with the above.
I focused on the lecture notes, but some lectures were very hard to follow and i found it very helpful to read a few sections that I didn't fully understand.
But you will definitely need to refer to the textbook once you start the assignments and PBL project.
Good luck. It's a wonderful course, but make sure not to slack off at the end of the year.
