Thtr Flm 2bb3
Patrick Brennan's course on set design and other theatrical principles was... well... awesome. Brennan is known for his long, abstract concept monologues but I found them interesting; he's been working in theatre for a long time and he has plenty of stories and experience to share.
Conceptually and work load-wise, the course isn't difficult, but it can be time-consuming. You are placed with one of the fourth year Honours Performanc Series productions and are required to put in time and effort prior to and during the show's run. Also, you have to attend three professional productions (as in, not McMaster student productions of any kind, Mac Thespians and Mac Musical Theatre included) and write a review/commentary on the design elements of the show. There are also a number of little assignments that you do individually and a final group project instead of an exam (YESSSS!!!! NO EXAM!!!!!).
Overall good times.

Do you have an option to focus more on visual or sound design or do you have to do both?
