I took Organic Chemistry in summer and usually its taught by Dr. Pedrech every summer. I have heard that everytime the class enters the exam with high 70's or low 80's and exam is do-able too but they play with the marking scheme and make sure that it brings down the class average to like C or C -. I thought this was crap and didnt believe that but when I saw this happening to me and my friends when we took it in the summer, I was shocked. I even went and looked at my final exam. Even if you had like one molecule or a bond angle wrong, you would get a zero on that question. I know its hard to beleive this but this has happened every summer with Dr. Pedrech. So, if you want a clean transcrpit then, take it at some other school where you can do it, get a completion mark and also enjoy your summer.

peace out.

I think you need to request permission. If you're considering that you should do it sooner than later. The actual request paper is somewhere under registered students for undergraduate.. I remember seeing it before.

The actual material for orgo isn't that tricky, it's a lot of mechanisms and structures and what not. I like it because it's strategic in a way - you have to devise steps to create a final product. What I found tricky in 2AO3 was having to visualize molecules in 3D space. I'm not that artistic, so it was a struggle for me, even with a model kit. The people that I know that got 12's/11's in this course worked at it a LOT. They kept up with the material, did readings, did practice questions throughout the course and not just at the midterm. Practice and repetition is key. It's not one of those courses you can just put to the side, study a few days before the midterm, and still pull a decent mark.
As for the profs, I personally didn't find stover that effective of a professor. He was really disorganized, and wasn't very knowledgeable about all of the topics. Capretta is the prof for 2OB3. I dropped that course, but I sat in on one of his lectures and I found him to be absolutely captivating. My friends in the course also praise his teaching abilities.
