C01
Mo 09:30 10:20 1 MDCL/1305

You would be having two lectures a week for that particular course (Mon. and Tues).

Looks like its the same core section with two lectures a week and you have to take both lectures

Only if you see something like C01, C02, C03. You choose between those, and there are times each week when they occur. Some of them have one lecture a week, or two or three even. If there's just C01, then that the one you have to take.

Yeah that's definitely two lectures per week.

If you had to choose between them it would list C01 and then C02 and so on and C02 would be at a different time.

Yep it's two lectures per week. You can check the course listings here: http://registrar.mcmaster.ca /CALEN...rrent/pg4.html#
and look up the course to see how many lectures/tutorials/labs it has per week

I'm really sorry about the dumb questions!

The FAQ/Help button on my course timetable isn't working.

So I was just wondering what all the abbreviations meant, and how I actually read the timetable? ( I know!)

Under the Comp which I'm guessing means Component, it says C01, then T01, T02, etc. If I could just figure out what those mean then I think I'll be okay.

Thank-you !

Okay, so I just read through the thread and I now understand that the C's and T's refer to core and tutorial.

So C01 Tu Th Fr refers to my classes? What about the long list of tutorials? Should I pay attention to that?

Thanks guys!!

C is core..that's your lectures.
T is tutorial, this is where a upper year student will do problems with you (in a lot of science courses ) or discussion will take place (in humanities type) or verbal practice (languages)

you can pick your tutorial to better fit your schedule. though not often core, since there aren't multiple cores as often.

Is there anyway of knowing which tutorial to choose? Or do you find out that information when recieving your personal timetable?

You should make a mock timetable now - where you make a table in a program like word or excel and you figure out when your classes are taking place and you pick a tutorial for each that best suits your schedule. The reason for doing this, is so that you avoid conflicts.

The other reason, is so that you fit your schedule to your liking - you know, avoiding 8:30 AM classes, not having really long days, that sort of thing.

After plugging in your classes into the timetable, you'll start to figure out which tutorials to choose.
