too far?
im considering renting a place a good 10-15 minute walk from mcmaster, is this too far? any stories from students who lived withing walking distance, but the school wasn't exactly close.

p.s. there is a bus stop but not sure how reliable hamilton transit is, and not sure how much it costs for student living off campus either (it was free when i wuz living on res i think)

10-15 minutes is fine for walking.

The bus pass is free, but depending on where you live it will either be full (especially at 8:30 AM classes) or it may not be as frequent (e.g. West of Campus). If you're in Westdale it will be fine.

But if you live near the King & Sterling bus stop you're better of walking than waiting for a bus.

Hamilton transit is free for everyone. You just need to show your student card with the most up-to-date sticker on it.

And no, 10-15 minutes isn't too far. Just make sure you leave for school 10-15 minutes before class starts .

I don't think a bus goes down that way. Closest bus stop is on Main Street I believe, but once you get there you're at campus anyways.

I walk like 20 minutes, bus 20 mins, then walk another 5 min to my class... and I live like 3x the distance you do from the bus stop onto campus.

I lived farther than you and I was fine. I only brought a clipboard for notes and one or two textbooks if I needed to kill time between classes.

If you want, take the Emerson Bus (5/51) to school, but often it'll be full before class time especially 8:30 classes.
