Transferring Faculties
I completed first year commerce I, but unfortunately due to failure in one of the mandatory courses (Math 1M03), I will not be eligible to move into commerce II. I have decided to switch into honours econ and do a minor in finance. My initial plan was to do a focus in finance while minoring in economics. I am pretty upset that I will graduate with a BA instead of a BComm. I was wondering how this will affect me in the long run? Are my doors still open?

Yeah I'd just take a stroll to the faculty of social science's academic advising office. An academic advisor will be able to tell you what your options are, given the courses you've completed and your overall GPA.

I can't offer any advice on your options, but my personal opinion is that employers would treat a BA massively different than a BComm, is there no way to get back in?

They offered me an option to write a letter to some sort of panel of directors, who then will review this letter and see if I can be put back in to the program, but the chances of this happening is very slim.

If there any upper year econ students out there that can give me an overview of the program itself, that'd be great!
