I dunno about you, but when someone posts something in the internet, my first instinct is not "Oh, look at this amusing thing you made" and is instead "Oh, look at this amusing thing you found." Unless they explicitly say otherwise, or in another way imply that they made it.

Would you like the citation in ALA Format, or...?

Ugh, forget it. You're completely right - it's better to just upload images from stupidly popular sites without ever making it known where it's from (although tons of us will know it's from Reddit anyways). It's much better to just put them on MacInsiders to get tons of "likes" without referencing the original thread or comments or topic creator.

or some form of that statement.
