Understanding the Master Timetable...
I did click on that "Helpful Hint" bit but...I still have questions.

When they're listing...like 27 labs...for one course...what does that mean?

For example...I looked at the Lab offerings for Bio 1A03 in first term.

L01Tu 14:30 17:20 1 BSB/213
L02Tu 14:30 17:20 1 BSB/213

L22Th 14:30 17:20 1 BSB/217
L23Th 14:30 17:20 1 BSB/218

...
And I saw that.
What does that mean?

You pick 1 lab section. You have the day of the lab, the time interval of the lab, the term and the room.

I tried checking CHEM 1E03 in the master time table and it shows me only the lectures and the labs and no tutorials, and when I checked the calendar it says that CHEM 1E03 should have 3 lectures, 1 lab and 1 tutorial. where are the tutorials ?

Tutorials for chem are not mandatory, so they don't appear in the the Timetable. They are held during the year, but it's on a drop-in basis. So it's up to you if you attend them or not. The tutorial times will be listed on the course outline, or stated by the prof on the first day.

When we're on SOLAR...we register for... which courses we would like but do we pick time slots?
Are we responsible for coordinating our own schedule in terms of time slots to ensure there aren't any conflicts or is that done automatically?

You don't get to pick your time slots. When SOLAR re-opens in August you can change your schedule if space permits.

I think they try and schedule it without a conflict.

Yes, you do pick time slots eventually (some classes will not allow you to at the moment). After sectioning, choose carefully so that you have the desired times and so that they do not conflict.

You may not get the desired times you want though. If the section is full you won't be able to get in until someone switches out. So if at first you don't succeed keep on trying. Also, you can post on MacInsiders that you want to switch sections, perhaps someone will want to switch with you.

Reminder: You'll know your schedule on the 11th of August and SOLAR re-opens on the 13th of August

I'm quite confused now with the conflicting responses.

Davey, do you mean that we choose our time slots for courses throughout the year and tutorials/labs in SOLAR? If so, let me get this straight. Let's say I pick

L01Tu 14:30 17:20 1 BSB/213 ..

That means...for Bio 1A03 in Term 1, I'm going to be in Room 213 of whichever building BSB stands for...from 2:30 to 5:20 on Tuesday...every Tuesday?

Edit: I get the course time slots now but I'm a bit unsure about what sectioning refers to

Sectioning is when the registrar picks your sections.

You can can the timetable you want. You just have to be patient. It took me a couple weeks to get into the time slots I wanted. People are always going to be switching around their schedules so sections that were full before may open up afterwards.

So you mean a section would be...when they say C01 or C02.
I took that to mean Course Offering 1/2 etc...Is that right?

And thank you again for all your informative responses.
I really appreciate that.
Fingers crossed for morning sessions though afternoon Bio labs could be a real pain...and all the other damn afternoon tutorials

That is correct. C01 is a section, C02 is another. Same thing for Labs (L) and Tutorials (T).

So when we go to register on SOLAR, do we get to choose the time for our courses or will it do it automatically for us??

And from the info at the bottom, it means i have a lecutre on monday and wednesday, and i get to choose any tutorial day right?
If there is only one day beside C01, i only have one lecture for the week?
