Very short Questions!
hey everyone, just some short questions if you could answer please,

1- Let's say i finish the last courses required for my degree in a summer, do i get my diploma by mail, by the end of summer?

2-Do graduate schools also start the year in september?

3- 4th year reading courses say " Prerequisite(s): Permission of the Chair of the Department, may be repeated, if on a different topic"

By "may be repeated", does it mean that i can take the two of the course in the same term, as long as its on a diffrent topic?

1. I don't think so, I would think you need to attend a convocation in the fall (in November, I believe) and you would then get your diploma. (I am not sure about this though)

2. It really depends on the graduate school. Some schools start in January, such as Waterloo but then again that is only for certain programs, others start in September. You would need to check specifically with the program and school.

The information doesn't seem to be updated for the next set of graduates but it seems you have three options.

http://registrar.mcmaster.ca /convocation/fees.html

Pay $40 to attend convocation, pay $25 dollars to have the diploma mailed to you or pick up the diploma for free.

Although this doesn't answer the question of when you would graduate/receive your diploma if you complete your degree requirements in summer school.
