Volunteer opportunity with Frontier College
LOOKING FOR A REWARDING VOLUNTEERING EXPERIENCE AT MAC?
I’m involved with a great national organization, Frontier College. Frontier College is a national literacy organization, delivering community literacy programs to children, youth and adults across Canada who want to improve learning skills. I have been tutoring for the past 2 years, volunteering at 2 different elementary schools and a teen homework club and it’s been an amazing personal experience.
What programs do we run?
The Frontier College runs several programs across Hamilton. Over 100 MAC students are involved with Frontier College Hamilton, mentoring/tutoring young children and youth in Hamilton. You can volunteer in a classroom, at a homework club, or be involved in a reading program - you can work in groups or one-to-one with a learner! All you need is 2 to 3 hours a week!
I have attached a list of our programs and their timings.
How can you get involved?
We have drop-in Information sessions scheduled on Thursday, Sept 16th and Monday, Sept 20th from 5:00 ‘till 6:00 PM at Clubspace (Student Centre- Room 215). Come out and hear about our great programs! If you’re interested or have any questions, feel free to PM me or contact our Community Coordinator directly at [email protected] ege.ca, call 905-818-1356 or visit www.frontiercollege.c a
Thanks!
