Hey Everyone!
ThinkRecycle is once again looking for volunteers to help out with our expanding program at McMaster University!! It requires minimal hours of volunteer work and is a great way to help out around campus and help the environment!
The ThinkRecycle program is a recycling program that works to collect inkjet and laser cartridges, digital cameras, old laptops, and cell phones to be recycled and diverted from landfills. We have several green and white cardboard collection boxes around campus where students, staff, and faculty may drop off items.
We have 4 volunteer positions:
1. Checker - The majority of our volunteers have the responsibility to check assigned collection boxes weekly and let us know of any full or close to full boxes. (minimal work)
2. Shipper - One or two volunteers jobs will be to tape up any full boxes, schedule UPS pickups, and bring a new empty collection box to replace the full one. All materials are provided. (minimal work)
3. (new) Media/Advertising Exec - This executive is in charge of running media campaigns to raise awareness of the recycling program on campus and also when possible, to receive feedback from students, staff, and faculty.
4. (new) Assistant Coordinator - This executive will assist in overseeing the volunteers at the McMaster main campus, and developing and implementing ways to improve the ThinkRecycle program at McMaster Innovation Park.
Both 1 and 2 require only minimal time during the week but are also important to keep the program running smoothly as we expand throughout campus. If you are interested in volunteering, please email me at
[email protected] om and let me know what position(s) you'd like to do, and what date you're available to begin volunteering.
We will be recruiting again at MacGreen's first general meeting in the near future as well, but we still need amazing people like you to volunteer asap.
Thanks,
Richard Cioci
