Volunteer Postings with Clients with ABI
Two positions requiring volunteers withleadership/mentoring, instructional skill and skill in either writing ormathematics.
1. Volunteer Editor/Research Aide:
For an adult male client withacquired brain injury (ABI) who is working toward the goal of completing astory and having it published. Activity will take place at a central Hamiltonresidential location. (Nearest major intersection is King and Sanford) 24/7staff support at location. Time and day is flexible.
2. Volunteer Math Tutor:
For an adult male clientwith acquired brain injury (ABI) who is working toward completing aneducational goal. Tutoring will take place at our main office. (Nearest major intersection is King and Wellington) Access to our client computer lab will beavailable. (Visit must be scheduled during regular office hours.)
Both locations are on King-Delaware bus route.
Postings offer excellent skill-building opportunities - Volunteers will become familiar with: motivation; limit setting; empathy; and professional rapport.
In a social work, teaching, nursing or policing program? BIS experience looks GREAT on resume!
Applicants MUST be reliable and have good communication skills. A police check will be requested uponacceptance into the program (If there is a fee we will reimburse after25 hours are donated.), and online training is to be completed within two months of start date.
