The Student Health Education Centre (SHEC) is a peer-run not-for-profit health promotion, education, and referral service for McMaster University students. We offer confidential peer support, an anonymous information hotline, referrals on- and off-campus, free condoms, lubricants, and free anonymous pregnancy testing on-site. In addition, we have a lending library with over 600 books and a variety of pamphlets on issues including sexuality, nutrition, body image, substance use and abuse, general well being, and many others . 
SHEC Volunteers are responsible for: 
a. 3 hours of peer supporting shifts per week 
b. A 1 hour committee meeting per week 
c. 2-3 hours of training per month 
d. Extra committee work and table shifts when needed 
e. Making an effort to participate in monthly fun socials with SHEC-mates
