Call For Nominations: Undergraduate and Graduate Student Representatives on the University Planning Committee and Senate
This is a great opportunity for undergraduate students to network with University staff as well as represent students in a very important role. They are looking for 1 undergraduate student for the planning committee, and 4 undergraduates (one from each of the Faculties of Business, Health Sci, Hummanities, and Soc Sci) to be a part of the Senate.
For those who don't know, the Senate is the governing body responsible for "making decisions on academic policy, which includes new academic programmes, changes in curriculum, standards for admission to the University, academic regulations, the code of conduct for students and procedures for student appeals" (
source).
Elections will be scheduled next month (October) to fill vacant representative seats for two-year terms (Nov 1st 2008 to October 31, 2010 - unless otherwise stated).
Notionation forms and further details are available in the University Secretariat's Office, Gilmour Hall Room 210, or visit
this link. Forms must be received in the University Secretariat's office by 4:30 pm on Thursday, September 25, 2008. Nomination period is September 12-25th 2008 closing at 4:30pm. Elections held in October.
