Vonage?
How is voyage for home phone?
I don't have much info about the coverage of their service in the Hamilton area. Any first hand experience?

Why are you looking for home phone? If you are going to get a cell phone you might as well use it instead of a home phone. Chances are you're going to be at school during the day and afternoon. By the time you get home you're evenings and weekends would probably kick in. If not you probably have any time minutes or you can add stuff like more minutes, unlimited incoming/outgoing, or earlier evenings and weekends (start at 5pm for example) for less than 20$ (which is how much vonage costs according to their website.

I have vonage and it's pretty good. I like having a home phone just in case my cell has failed me. A cool feature about vonage is that when you get voicemail they will email it to you as a .wav file, so you can listen to it even if you're away from home. The basic plan is 20/month and you get 500 minutes anywhere in Canada and the US. You just have to make sure you have a working internet connection and you'll be good to go.

I live in Hamilton with my parents actually and I have a cell phone with WIND, but we are looking for a home phone replacement for COGECO.
