Vote on February 2nd and 3rd
While several of us have received information about the MSU presidential elections, as another member of the McMaster student population, I urge you to go online and vote for the Health and Dental plan referenda when voting for your bus pass, on the Engineers without Borders referendum, and on continuing the HSR bus pass.
And a personal appeal:
I understand that we might have strong, polarizing views on these issues but just keep in mind that eliminating the Health or Dental plans can affect many other students who do not receive insurance in any other way.
If you wish to opt out of the plans, that option will still exist if we preserve them.

To be honest, the bus pass is way more important to me. People just need to realize that people can opt out of the current dental and health plans, but there's no such middle ground for the HSR pass. Either we get it at an amazing price or we don't.
This is the first time I'm ever gonna vote for something.

Honestly, I can't see the HSR vote failing... too many people rely on it..
Unless there is a silent majority who live in residence who for some reason feel the need to come out of their caves (so-to-speak) specifically to vote.

I am NOT one of those -___-
Seriously though, it's a lot cheaper and it makes sense. I've heard a lot of people complain about that at U of T, York and such, where they only subsidize a few dollars on each monthly bus pass. So in the end they end up paying close to $100 per month anyway,..

I'm emailing back and forth with the MSU right now to see if I can even vote. When I log in I get the message that I'm not eligible.
I don't know if it has to do with my co-op work term or not. It shouldn't, I'm still a full time student.

Hey tempting f8 - don't worry, there are still 2 days to work out eligibility issues, since today was a snow day. Also, for the main post - Vote February 4th too since we had a snow day!

Yeah, I'm not terribly worried yet. Emails are going back and forth right now.
I just want to be able to cast my vote considering that I'll be back from co-op in September and the outcome of this vote directly affects me...
