Welcome Day
Is Welcome Day just a student thing, or are parents invited too? I would like to know in case my mom needs to take the day off work

It's a student thing. I didn't see a single parent there, as far as I know.

There's also a very high turnout so it can be helpful to have family around. I'm sure you'll meet some great people and start into some new connections, but it's comforting to have a familiar face with you whom you can talk to if you get nervous.

I saw lots and lots of parents there last year. You don't need to have them there though, like if it's too much trouble for them to get the day off or something.

My mom came with me when I went two years ago, and while all the students were out and about doing our own thing (running around campus looking for buildings, i can't even remember)... all the parents got a little talk about some info that they would need, as our parents. My mom really liked it and foudn it useful. She also made a friend, lol.

So yea... if its not too much work for your mom to take work off, def bring her
